Why gender targets must be put in the right context

Men and women within your organization may become dissatisfied if company leaders focus on meeting certain gender targets without explaining why that is necessary, writes Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, CEO of 20-first. "Before you spend years rebalancing your numbers, sell the why of balance to your majority," she recommends. Otherwise, an acrimonious culture may remain even after your company has come closer to achieving gender parity.
