Amazon profits rise from international growth

Amazon more than tripled its third-quarter profits, attributing the rise in income to more business abroad and a growing number of free-shipping deals. However, the $54 million profit still did not meet analysts' projections, which caused the stock price yesterday to slide 8% in after-hours trading.
