New York subway system to expand with quieter, cleaner trains

The New York City Transit Authority is marking its subway system's 100-year anniversary with plans to build extensions to the system that will run quieter, cleaner and more reliably. The $4 billion worth of new construction will include building a new 8.5-mile Second Avenue line across Manhattan's East Side.
