Maine considers making college applications mandatory

A month after Maine's new law encouraging all high school seniors to apply to college has gone into effect, the state's education commissioner is calling for such applications to become mandatory. If legislators agree, members of the class of 2009 would have to complete a college application to be eligible for a high school diploma.
