New highway set to open in Illinois next month

The new 12.5-mile southern extension of the North-South Tollway in Illinois' rural Will County, in planning since the 1960s, is due to finally open next month. The $730 million, six-lane highway was built to ease congestion on the area's rural roads, but it could also spur new growth and further traffic.
