Study: Drug testing may not discourage abuse

Random drug and alcohol testing may not keep student-athletes from using such substances, according to a study from researchers at the Oregon Health & Science University. "Armed with this information, parents, schools and policy-makers now can make evidence-based, cost-effective decisions about how best to protect the health and well-being of young athletes," the study's principal investigator, Linn Goldberg, said.
