California begins construction on $172M reservoir

Construction on the Imperial Valley reservoir in Southern California begins this week. The $172.2-million project will store water from the Colorado River that otherwise would flow to Mexico. The 500-acre reservoir should be completed in August 2010, and will provide water for coastal Southern California, southern Nevada and central Arizona.
