American Transmission will spend $2.5B on power lines

Over the next decade, American Transmission Co. plans to spend $2.5 billion building power lines. The estimate is down from $2.7 billion projected last year. However, the company noted that amount could increase as it plans to "focus on regional transmission support to move renewable generation to areas where the power is needed."
