HIT panel examines how providers share health data with patients

A recent Health IT Standards Committee meeting explored how health care groups share clinical data with their patients. The Veterans Affairs Department, for instance, employs its HealtheVet personal health record system to enable veterans to perform some tasks such as accessing their medical data and renewing prescriptions.
