Report: Imaging industry to spur growth in personalized medicine

The imaging industry, particularly the emerging molecular technologies, will play a key role in advancing personalized treatments, said a report from Kalorama Information, a health care market research publisher. Imaging can provide clues not only on tumors' metabolic activities but their chemical properties as well, which could help doctors plan individualized treatments. Radiopharmaceuticals, used as tracer agents in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, will see a 10% to 16% annual growth from $830 million last year, the report said.
