Secret Service plans to upgrade aging IT infrastructure

The Secret Service's information technology infrastructure relies, in part, on a 20-year-old IBM mainframe running 42 applications, and the agency is planning to upgrade its whole system. Improved mobile capabilities, upgraded databases and new storage systems are all part of the agency's plans to modernize its 175-plus offices around the world.
