Strong tsunami could hit Pacific Northwest, expert says

A geotechnical engineer from the Oregon Department of Geology is proposing the construction of a series of evacuation buildings along the Pacific Northwest to protect against powerful tsunamis. Yumei Wang said the northwest coast is vulnerable to a tsunami that could reach more than 50 feet in height and put tens of thousands of residents at serious risk.
