Worrisome potential new nuclear neighbors

Welcome or not, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates are nations potentially seeking entry into the nuclear neighborhood. While the prospect of a UAE with a peaceful nuclear program seems less daunting than that of a nuclear Myanmar, the advance of even peaceful nuclear power in the Middle East could furnish a nuclear development race. Kazakhstan, the world's third-largest uranium exporter, plans to begin enriching its own uranium in 2011.
