Mother's suicide increases a child's risk for suicide attempt

A study in Pediatrics found that children whose mother committed suicide had an increased risk of a suicide attempt later in life compared wtih children whose father had committed suicide. The researchers also found that children of fathers who committed suicide were more likely to be hospitalized for depression or anxiety than their peers whose father died in an accident.
