Texas power plant will pilot "clean coal" technology

A power plant in Thompsons, Texas, is being upgraded to support "clean coal" technology with funds from NRG and the Department of Energy. The pilot project aims to slash carbon dioxide emissions by 90%. "Advancing our carbon capture and storage technology will create new jobs in America and reduce our carbon pollution output," U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu said in March.
