ASDS program promotes sun-safe surfing

An ASDS Future Leaders Network program aims to prevent skin cancer in surfers. The program, described at the ASDS annual meeting, provided ultraviolet protective rash guards to surf camp students and instructors in New York, and provided skin cancer screenings for beach visitors. Dermatologist Jordan B. Slutsky, a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Mohs Surgery & Cutaneous Oncology at Stony Brook University Hospital, led the program and plans to expand it.
