Boarding school takes students back to the land

Hotchkiss, a prestigious Connecticut boarding school, has created a program that has students working the fields, learning lessons in sustainable farming and conservation as they grow organic produce for the dining halls. The school produces about 1.5% of its food, and about 39% of its total food is either local or fair-trade produced, said Joshua Hahn, assistant head of school and director of environmental initiatives.
