FaceTime and handheld device useful in cardiac imaging, study finds

In a small study, researchers found that FaceTime combined with pocket-sized sonography devices attached to an iPhone provided accurate and medically useful cardiac imaging information. Novice imagers used the devices and were connected with a cardiologist via FaceTime who guided the image collection and viewed and interpreted the images. Such technology may be useful during emergency situations.
