Higher gas tax needed for infrastructure projects, U.S. Chamber says

An increase in federal gas taxes should be considered to provide more funding for roads, bridges and other infrastructure in the U.S., according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The current tax is 18.4 cents per gallon and was last raised in 1993. Former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood called on Congress last week to increase the gas tax by 10 cents per gallon.
