Interior secretary says R.I. could lead the way in offshore wind

Rhode Island is on course to lead the way in U.S. offshore wind production, as efforts by Deepwater Wind to build two wind facilities off the state's coast start to bear fruit, said Interior Secretary Sally Jewell at a conference hosted by the American Wind Energy Association. A federal offshore wind lease auction in August, which was won by Deepwater Wind, shows that offshore wind production is growing, Jewell said.
