Medtronic wins FDA nod for blood clot-removal device

Medtronic has secured FDA clearance for its Export Advance aspiration catheter, which is used to help doctors remove blood clots from coronary arteries when performing angiographic procedures. The device, which was cleared in Europe in May, comes with variable braiding technology for more flexibility and an inner metal core to promote kink resistance during delivery.
