Mich. school district to host weekend devoted to STEM learning

Albion Public Schools in Michigan will host its first weekend devoted to science, technology, engineering and math learning for fifth- through eighth-graders. Organizers of the event hope that by giving students hands-on opportunities to learn about rockets, bridges, DNA and more, they'll become inspired to pursue more STEM education. The district is also working on plans for a STEM weekend just for girls, as well as a Science Olympiad team to help get parents involved in the schools' STEM programs.
