Newfield Exploration to get $898M from sale of Malaysian assets

Newfield Exploration will get about $898 million from the sale of its Malaysian assets to SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad. The properties cover 3.3 million offshore acres and held 15 million barrels of proved oil reserves at the end of 2012. "They are high-quality oil assets and we had a proven team of people on the ground in Kuala Lampur," said Steve Campbell, a spokesman for Newfield.
