Obesity battle may lead to eating disorders in children, experts say

Health experts say the battle against obesity may be causing some children to use extreme weight-loss tactics that lead to eating disorders. Study data is beginning to link pediatric dieting to an increase in conditions such as bulimia and anorexia. Joslyn Smith, who works with eating-disorder advocacy groups, said the focus should be on health and behavior outcomes instead of weight loss.
