Use of Bayer's glucose meter with Medtronic's MiniMed device OK'd by FDA

The FDA has cleared Bayer to integrate its Contour Next Link device with the FDA-approved MiniMed 530G with Enlite diabetes management tool from Medtronic. The Contour Next Link device aids in the regulation of insulin delivery by the MiniMed 530G system by monitoring blood sugar levels. The device also can communicate through Medtronic's CareLink solution and send glucose test outcomes wirelessly to Medtronic's insulin systems.
