Recognition should focus on reinforcing a process, not on promoting a specific event or goal, Paul Hebert writes. This means that you should look to recognize the incremental changes that employees cause in their daily work. "I think you'll be surprised how much of your company's recognition efforts ignore the positive change people make and simply highlight the event," Hebert writes.
