Will Nokia buy Alcatel's wireless gear unit?

With billions of dollars in hand from selling its phone business to Microsoft, Nokia's newly formed technology and service company is in prime position to buy Alcatel-Lucent's wireless equipment division, according to Sami Sarkamies, an analyst at Helsinki's Nordea Bank. "Nokia will have the financial flexibility to do this kind of deal and Alcatel needs to slim down. There is a relatively high likelihood of this deal happening," said Sarkamies.
