Hartford schools' history curriculum to get makeover

Trinity College and the Connecticut Historical Society are developing a hands-on history curriculum that could become a model for other urban school districts. The goal is to create lessons that explore topics in depth, rather than "racing through history," according to Ilene Lowenstein, senior coordinator for social studies for the city's school system.
