Transit-oriented development rolls into NorthPoint

East Cambridge's NorthPoint construction project is breaking ground on its second phase today, arriving in NorthPoint to replace the Lechmere T station. A $70 million Green Line station will replace the stop in 2010 as part of the development of 5.2 million square feet of buildings on 45 acres. It will include 20 buildings on 19 blocks, 2,500 new residences, a 10-acre central park and seemingly endless retail space.
