FDA clears Boston Scientific's carotid artery stent

The FDA has granted approval for Boston Scientific's Carotis Wallstent Monorail Endoprosthesis, a stent designed to treat carotid artery disease in people at high risk for surgery. The device, which is already approved in Europe, can help lower the risk of stroke, a company official said.
