High stakes in race to build speedier warship

The AP looks at the high-stakes contest to build up to 55 Littoral Combat Ships for the Navy. General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin are each producing two of the vessels, working from very different designs. Eventually the Navy will choose one contractor to build its fleet of coastal warships with a top sustained speed of 44 knots.
