BASF looks to customize its offerings for medical-devices market

BASF is targeting the medical-devices market through customized technology solutions that feature varying releases of active chemicals for different applications. "BASF's value proposition is to develop specific formulations for device makers and to incorporate those into plastic compounds or coatings that can be used to manufacture the devices," said Dr. Richard Thomas of BASF's NAFTA medical-devices unit.
