Student-loan debt continues to build as many struggle to pay

U.S. student-loan debt totals about $950 billion, more than credit card debt. The government is moving to improve the situation. Under the Dodd-Frank Act, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regulates private student lenders and gathers data on the market. The CFPB also plans an online "student debt assistant" tool to help borrowers learn about their options.
