Export tax for Indonesian palm oil could be slashed

October's drop in palm oil benchmark prices could lead Indonesia, the world's biggest producer, to bump its crude palm oil export tax from 13.5% to 10.5%, the Indonesian Palm Oil Association said Tuesday. Separately, an official from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which refused to classify palm-oil diesel as a renewable fuel, will visit Indonesia next week to discuss the country's environmental regulations for palm-oil producers.
