Why health care groups need not be afraid of ICD-10

Health groups should strive to understand ICD-10, rather than see it as a reason for fear, so they can start their preparations earnestly, says Rhonda Buckholtz, vice president of ICD-10 education and training at AAPC. Buckholtz offers five reasons not to fear ICD-10, including that costs are unlikely to escalate, productivity concerns can be avoided strategically and the new codes won't change medical practice.
