A former employee of the Allied Veterans of the World -- which long maintained the legality of its facilities -- said the organization knew patrons were using casino-style games at Internet centers it operated at Florida strip malls. "You wouldn’t see anybody in there on the Internet. You’d go in there and see casino style slot machines on a computer," said Evan Wallace, who worked for Allied Vets for more than a year. The company said it was running a sweepstakes, but it was shut down by law enforcement officials in March.
