State lawmakers and parish presidents in Louisiana should urge officials in other states to form a bigger coalition to push Congress to take action on mandatory rate increases under the National Flood Insurance Program, said Don Cravins, chief of staff to Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La. "We have to tell people that this isn't some beachfront vacation destination. This is a working coast in Louisiana," Cravins said.
