Students in the Aspen School District in Colorado have regular access to made-from-scratch meals and nutritional education. School-nutrition professionals in the district say they can better control salt, sugar and fat by avoiding premade, processed foods. On national Food Day -- celebrated today -- elementary- and middle-school students will participate in taste tests and other events that seek to further the district's daily focus on student health and nutrition.
