A project more than a decade in the making to expand the runway and add other improvements at Maryland Airport in Pomonkey, Md., is moving forward. The airport's runway was recently realigned and extended to 3,740 feet. The next phase of the project will expand the runway by an additional 560 feet and add a ramp, an access road and a new terminal. Airport officials say that these improvements will help bring business opportunities to the area.
