Pace of gain in U.S. home prices slows

The month-on-month pace of increase in U.S. home prices eased in August to 0.3%, falling below economists' estimate of 0.8% and representing the lowest increase in 11 months. Sharper gains earlier in the year were driven by low supply, but higher prices have begun to bring more homes onto the market, relieving demand pressure.
