SAP attracts developers with HTML5, open-source mobile app platform

Version 3.0 of SAP's Mobile Platform will rely extensively upon HTML5 coding and open-source standards in an effort to attract developers. SAP will combine the NetWeaver Gateway, Sybase Mobiliser and Syclo Agentry, and support a "bring your own tools" approach to mobile application production. On the HANA front, SAP is offering developers "the ability of HANA to write to external data stores such as Oracle databases; Hadoop integration; and customizable text-analysis dictionaries," among other features, Chris Kanaracus writes.
