St. Jude's device used in stenting procedures gets FDA OK

St. Jude Medical has received premarket approval from the FDA for its Ilumien Optis system. The next-generation device uses a combination of optical coherence tomography and fractional flow reserve technology to allow surgeons to monitor blood flow and visualize the heart during stenting procedures.
