Study: Statins decrease heart disease risk in women

An analysis of data from 13 studies showed women who took statins had a lower risk of heart disease, cardiovascular-related events, and all-cause mortality than nonusers. The findings, published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, backed the use of statins for prevention of heart disease among high-risk women, researchers said.
