U.S. posts increased construction spending for August

Construction spending climbed 0.6% in August, reaching an annual rate of $915.1 billion, the largest amount in almost 4½ years, according to the Commerce Department. Spending on private construction rose by 0.7%, while spending for public projects increased 0.4%.
