British Columbia teachers end strike

British Columbia teachers voted this weekend to accept mediator Vince Ready's recommendations that the government establish a uniform base-pay rate and spend nearly US$143 million, rather than the current US$126 million committed, to address class-size and disabled-student issues. Most schools should reopen today.
