Delta on track to exit bankruptcy next year, COO says

Delta Air Lines Chief Operating Officer Jim Whitehurst says the company is on track to leave bankruptcy protection in 2007. He says demand for travel remains strong and airlines are adding a limited number of seats to their networks. Whitehurst also says he does not expect more consolidation in the industry until Delta and Northwest Airlines emerge from bankruptcy protection.
