Firm criticized for Big Dig oversight recruited for inspections

Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney's administration asked Bechtel/Parsons Brinkeroff to perform daily inspections on Big Dig tunnels, despite heavily criticizing the consulting firm for its oversight of the $14.6 billion project. The Boston Herald reports that the company has been involved in the inspections, ordered following a fatal tunnel collapse last summer, for at least two weeks.
