Microsoft wins investment battle for stake in Facebook

Microsoft has purchased a 1.6% stake in Facebook for $240 million, beating out bids by Yahoo! and Google. The investment values the company, formed three and a half years ago, at $15 billion. Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will sell banner ads on non-U.S. Facebook pages.
