Study: Female blood plasma may not be harmful

Blood plasma from female donors may not lead to harmful outcomes and may have a protective effect in transfusion recipients, according to a study. Some researchers have suspected that plasma from females causes transfusion-related acute lung injury, causing some blood banks to consider limiting its use.
