Tweeter hopes 3-D commerce will merge Web, in-store shopping

Mark Stearns, director of e-commerce at Tweeter, envisions a time when the virtual and bricks-and-mortar shopping worlds will merge by combining 3-D in-store and Web experiences. The company is experimenting with sending representatives into people's homes with digital equipment that creates 3-D representations to predict perfect home-entertainment and sonic purchases.
